Apple Unveils New iPad, Introduces LTE 4G, 5MP Camera And More





The New iPad

Apple on Wednesday revealed the company’s newest gadget, the Apple iPad 3, currently known as the “New iPad.”

The tablet features the company’s best tablet display to date with 9.7-inches featuring a retina display that outputs 2048 x 1536 pixels of resolution for a total of 3.1 million pixels. If you’re keeping score at home that’s 1 million more pixels than standard HDTV’s.

The new iPad also features the A5x processor with quad-core graphics alongside a 5-megapixel iSight camera that can record video files at 1080p resolution.

The new devices start at $499 for a 16GB version with a 4G option available starting at $629.

Available in both black and white the device is a thin 9.4mm and weights in at just 1.4 pounds.

In the meantime a 32GB version will run you $599 ($729 for 4G) while the 64GB version comes in at $699 ($829 for 4G).

Pre-orders started on Wednesday with the new devices arriving on March 16.
