Handpresso Lets You Make Espresso In Your Car
If you’re a coffee drinker with no time to make a fresh pot or if you are simply in the need for a middle of the day fix the new Handpresso might be exactly the type of gadget you have been waiting for even though you didn’t know you needed it.
As the name would suggest the Handpress is a hand-held espresso maker that allows drinkers to brew a quick cup.
The gadget (pictured above) is about the size of a flashlight and plugs into a cigarette lighter in your automobile. Simply add water, throw in a pod of espress grounds (any brand) and press the brew button. Water eventually pumps through the grounds at 16 bars of pressure and the drink is ready in just two minutes. Considering you only need 9 bars of pressure to brew a cup the machine is actually quite powerful for its small portable size.
The device isn’t cheap at a cost of $198 and it won’t be ready to ship until April. Handpress executives plan to make a big push for the device at the Paris Motor Show in September, for now they are relying on a viral marketing strategy.
It’s still not known if the device will eventually be available in the United States.
In the meantime here’s a video of the Handpresso in action:
