1,400 Police Protected Paul McCartney In Colombia

Paul McCartney in Colombia

The city of Bogota, Colombia is full of crime, so much crime in fact that the city was asked to provide Paul McCartney with 1,400 police officers during his trip last week to perform a concert for more than 30,000 Beatles fans.

According to the Telegraph there were so many police officers on the scene that they managed to occupy a five-block radius surrounding the stadium, ensuring no wrong doing occurred during the show.

Paul McCartney and his wife also arrived and left directly from a military airport and the entire block where Paul McCartney’s hotel was located was put on “lockdown” for two straight nights in order to keep the famed singer safe.

In case you think Mr. McCartney went all diva to receive such treatment, sources say he had nothing to do with the decision which was made by concert promoters who feared for the singers safety in the crime driven location.
