Donna Summer The Disco Icon Has Passed Away

Having grown up in the era of disco the name Donna Summer was one that you heard all the time on the radio and on the hit lists. She was a great singer and even if you weren’t a fan of disco you could easily be a fan of her style and grace.

Her passing was first reported by TMZ citing sources that Summer had died in Florida after losing her battle with lung cancer. It is also being reported that she was trying hard to wrap up a new album that she had been working on.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” her family said Thursday, in a statement to¬†THR. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”
