0State Farm Says Ford Focus Owners Up For Some Discounts
I don’t own a car right now, and haven’t for a while now but if I was in the market for some new wheels I have to admit that the Ford Focus would definitely be up there on my list of cars to kick a tire or two and it appears that State Farm is pretty impressed with it as well.
Part of the reason is that the Focus is coming to market with a growing number of safety minded features thanks to their Sync voice control technology, such as hand free voice activated phone calls and enabling control of vehicle systems without taking your eyes off the road.
In a partnership with Ford the insurance company is going to be offering some pretty serious discounts based on your number of mile driven in a month. You’ll save 5% right off the bat but premium savings will come at your six month policy renewal period where drivers who travel around 1,000 miler a month can expect a 10% discount and drivers with lower mileage could see up to 40% discounts on their premiums.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see this as a growing trend among insurance companies and as we head even further down the technology road – Google driverless cars anyone – insurance discounts could become even more prevalent.
