News Corp Hacking Lawsuits Mounting

Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp organization will likely face upwards of 500 civil lawsuits according to the company’s own estimates and that of its hacking victims’ lawyers.

So far 110 lawsuits have been filed with more being added on a daily basis as more details surface regarding the far reaching efforts of the News Corp team to disrupt the lives of its victims.

According to a lawyer for the victims 520 total potential claims exists which those already resolved have been included. In the meantime News Corp has settled more than half of all filed claims with 49 cases still open.

One lawyer representing News Corp hacking victims says he has more than 200 claimants who have given “undertaking,” which means they have contacted police for information and are preparing to file claims against the media agency.

News Corp has publicly said it would attempt to settle as many cases as possible out of court.
