A Hint For Grandma: Don’t Leave Your Pot Cookies Where Grandchild Can Reach

I would have thought this would have been a pretty common sense thing to do but it looks like in this case someone should have reminded that leaving her pot cookies where her grandson can reach them.

The grandma, currently unidentified, is a cancer patient and had a prescription for medical marijuana which she made cookies out of to help treat her pain and insomnia. As she told the police she uses chocolate chip cookies laced with THC oil as a sleeping aid.

The problem arose though when her children and her three-year-old grandson came by for a visit. It wasn’t until they couldn’t rouse the child from a 15-hour sleep that they figured out that the young lad had gone exploring and discovered grandma’s pot cookie stash in a refrigerator in the garage.

The family believes the boy, who was being watched by an aunt at the time, must have made his way to the refrigerator in the garage where grandma keeps her stash. Crumbs found on the garage floor by the boy’s father appear to confirm this.

According to Sgt. Phil Gomez, the family claims “they didn’t realize the boy knew there was a refrigerator in the garage, much less worry the child would get into it.”

There is an ongoing investigation and authorities are considering charging the family with child endangerment but are still waiting on toxicology reports before making a final decision.
