Gabrielle Union’s Weave Sparks TSA Concern

I don’t know about you, but I feel way safer now that I know the crack agents of the Transportation Security Administration- better known as the TSA- are protecting me from the hair extensions of Gabrielle Union.

As comforting as it may be to know that Gabrielle Union’s weave has been thoroughly searched, the actress seems to have been a bit taken aback that TSA agents expressed interest in her hair. On Twitter, Union told the tale of a nosy TSA agent over the course of several tweets, saying:

“Ma weave got “flagged” by the bodyscan at security. TSA required a hair patdown. No lie…they coulda just asked if it was the temple hair… If human hair & thread sets off the bodyscanner…a lot of folks jus ended up on the “watch list”…its a weave not terrorism…”

When a fan said that a black female TSA agent would have been more understanding of Union’s reticence to have her weave examined, the actress replied:

“Girl it WAS a black female TSA agent!”

Another fan chimed in to say that in that case, the TSA agent likely just wanted to know if Union’s hair was a weave, to which the star joked:

“Exactly, she coulda just asked, ain’t no secret!”

Before takeoff, Union concluded:

“Bout to take off…hopefully my weave doesn’t cause turbulence…its clearly very powerful 🙂 …It WAS unbeweaveable.”

Do you think airline security resources would be better spent on things other than how Gabrielle Union’s hair is done?
