Turning Junk Into A Cathedral Is One Austin Man’s Mission [Video]

Turning Junk Into A Cathedral Is One Austin Man's Mission

Vince Hannemann, otherwise known as the Junk King, has had a mission of taking the things that we throw away into a cathedral type art installation.

The dream began back in 1989; and after being sidelined by the city of Austin for not having the right building permits for his “auxiliary structure but which he final did get after having to remove 60 tons of material, continues today with the help of volunteers.

The video which was shot by Evan Burns and provides us with a glimpse into the cathedral of junk and the man behind it.

About the Author

Steven has been around the tech world long enough to see most of the stuff we think of cool happen before which leads to a certain bit of cynicism that has contributed to him being known as the cranky old fart of the Internet. Besides sharing some of the goodness that he finds with you here at 42x you can also find him curating some digital goodness at Winextra (tech type stuff) and Rotten Gumdrops (for your daily dose of WTF).
