Wanderfly is the Pinterest of… (Spins Wheel) …Travel!

It seems that since Pinterest became the hottest thing on the internet since FarmVille, every day brings a new Pinterest of something.

We got Gentlemint, which is the Pinterest for males who think Pinterest is too much of a clam jam. And now there is Wanderfly, which you should for some reason visit instead of just creating a travel board on Pinterest. Perhaps some people have massive travel budgets that require a larger trove of inspiration than can be found on Pinterest, but our first world problem of the day is that how the hell am I going to be able to keep up one more account for the hot new fads on the web?

Mashable covered Wanderfly this week, illustrating how the site uses tagging and a Pinterest-like interface of pics to engage users and encourage them to pin and share their location-related lusts. The site spoke to Wanderfly co-founder Christy Liu, who says the site offers “personalized travel recommendations not just for cities, but also what you can do in cities.” And to be fair, despite our imminent pin-fatigue, Wanderfly is slick, intuitive and a great place to find inspiration for travel- we just wish we had the time and trust fund to go on enough trips to necessitate its frequent use.

All in all it seems like a good place to organize travel ambitions, but it kind of makes you wonder… do we need yet another Pinterest clone just for one particular life pursuit?
